Installing the PWA

LyricPro is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means it runs entirely on your device, offering a fast, native app experience tailored for musicians without needing to download it from an app store.

How to Install

iOS (iPhone/iPad): Open the app in Safari. Tap the Share icon at the bottom, scroll down, and tap "Add to Home Screen".
Android: Open the app in Chrome. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right, and select "Install App" or "Add to Home screen".
Desktop: Open the app in Chrome or Edge. Look for the install icon (a screen with a down arrow) on the right side of the address bar.

Why Install to Home Screen?

Running LyricPro from a standard web browser puts your saved songs and setlists at risk. Mobile browsers routinely clear their cache and temporary website storage to free up space. If you run the app from a browser tab, your lyrics and metadata may randomly disappear.

Benefits of Home Screen Installation:

Persistent Storage: Installing the app signals to your device that this is a permanent application, preventing the automatic deletion of your database.
Offline Use: Gigs don't always have Wi-Fi. The app functions completely without an internet connection so your lyrics are always ready.
Full Screen: Removes the browser URL bar to maximize screen space for reading lyrics and viewing chords.

Core Features & Tools

Managing Lyrics and Setlists

Organize your repertoire with ease using the + NEW button in the sidebar menu:

Add Lyric: Create a new blank lyric sheet from scratch.
New Lyrics from Files: Quickly add lyrics by choosing existing files directly from your device.
New Setlist: Enter a name and group your songs together to create custom setlists for different gigs or rehearsals.
Search: Easily find any song in your Lyric List using the top search bar.

Performance Tools

The bottom navigation dock provides quick access to essential performance modes:

Dock: Manage your files and folders quickly.
Karaoke: A dedicated view mode optimized for vocal performance.
Editor: Write and format your lyrics seamlessly.
Autoscroll: Keeps your hands on your instrument by automatically scrolling through your lyrics as you play.
Details: Instantly jump to the song's metadata and settings.

The right-side toolbar allows for on-the-fly display adjustments and exports:

Text Scaling: Use the T+ (Larger) and T- (Smaller) buttons to adjust readability instantly, or hit Reset to return to default.
Print & PDF: Generate a PDF of your lyric sheet or send it directly to a Printer.
Backup: Create a quick backup of your current view.

Built-in Musician Utilities

Access these via the top navigation bar or main menu:

Guitar Tuner: A built-in tuner powered by GuitarApp. It supports standard tuning (E A D G B E) with real-time Hz and Cents feedback via your device's microphone.
Chords: Quickly reference chord diagrams.
Metronome: Access a built-in metronome via the top-right toolbar to keep your timing precise.
Menu Options: Quickly access Appearance settings, a PDF Viewer, complete Backup / Restore, and a Convert Lyrics tool.

Song Details & Organization

Keep track of every detail for your songs using the dedicated Details tab on the bottom dock. You can log comprehensive metadata to ensure your band is always on the same page.

Available Metadata Fields

Timing & Rhythm: Log the BPM, Tempo, Time Signature, and Delay settings.
Instrumentation: Record the specific Tuning (e.g., Standard E A D G B E), Key signature, and Capo position.
General Info: Tag the Genre, Songwriter/s, performing Artist, and the Date.
Notes: A free-text section for performance cues, gear settings, or rehearsal reminders.

Privacy, Security, and Backups

100% Device-Local Privacy

Your lyrics and setlists are entirely private. LyricPro stores your database securely in your device's local browser storage. We do not have a cloud server, and we do not have access to your intellectual property. Your writings never leave your device.

Crucial: Manual Backups are Required!

Because there is no cloud synchronization, if you delete the app from your Home Screen, your device will instantly and permanently erase all of your songs and setlists.

If you break your phone, lose it, or upgrade to a new device, your data will not transfer automatically.

How to Backup Your Data

To protect your hard work, you must manually export your data frequently:

Quick Backup: Use the Backup button located on the right-side vertical toolbar to save a quick copy of your work.
Full Library Management: Open the main side Menu and navigate to Backup / Restore to download your entire catalog or import previously saved backups onto a new device.
